First Pass Design

It seems clear that it would be advantageous to keep all parts within  8' x 4' size limits, this being the standard size of a lot of building materials and methods of transporting them.

4' x 8' Frame

The basic building block of the arena. Constructed from 1.5" x 3" x 0.125 Steel Tubing with 1" x 1" x 0.125" angle used to provide a recess for mounting the "Lexan" panels. Three sets of paired holes in each side allow the panels to be bolted together and to the corner posts and floor frames.

8' x 4" x 4" Corner Post

The Corner posts are 8' lengths of 4" x 4" x 0.125" Steel tube with a 6" x 6" x 0.25" Plate on the bottom. Three sets of paired holes line up with those on the side frames.

4' x 4' x 10" Floor frame

The floor frame is 2" x 4" x 0.125" Tubing with 2" x 2" x 0.125" legs. Each leg would have a screw levelling foot at the bottom.

Post Top

The post tops slip into the top of the corner posts and have slots on two sides to fit 2" x 12" (nominal) engineered lumber beams.

Truss support bracket

These attach to the 2" x 12" Beams that form the sides and trusses in the Roof.
